What is Farm Club?

A Farm Club membership allows you the flexibility of a hectic summer travel schedule, picky eaters, or specialized dietary needs. Get exactly what you want, exactly when you want it with a debit approach to the farm share.

Members will receive a pre-loaded card to use at the Blacksburg Farmers Market* all season, April-November. There is no limit to how much you can use on any given transaction, and no requirement to come every week. Your Farm Club Card earns you a 10% discount on all farm goods. Members also receive pre-order privilege, so you can ensure that the items you want are always available, no matter what time you make it to the Farmers Market.

Farm Club was born out of the traditional CSA model, but has adapted over the years to support your preferred shopping habits and our capacity as a small family farm. Think of it like a veggie subscription service, but better!

Each week, members will receive an email newsletter highlighting available produce, storage and preparation tips, recipes, stories from the field, and more!

FAQs

  • Join Farm Club at four levels:

    Individual - $250
Average weekly value of $8-10. Best for those who appreciate local produce, but don’t need a ton of it.

    Couple - $400
Average weekly value of $15-20. Best for couples without children, or individuals with a heavily plant-based diet.

    Small Family - $550
Average weekly value of $20-25. Best for families with 1-2 small children, or large families who know they will be traveling often during the market season.

    Large Family - $700
Average weekly value of $25-30. Best for families with older children who eat well!

**Each level indicates an average weekly value, based on the assumption that you will miss some weeks, or buy varying amounts on different days. But it completely flexible! Get twice as much one week, skip two weeks, stock up on a particular favorite… the sky’s the limit!

  • All membership levels assume a 10% value of savings from market prices, and benefit members equally regardless of which amount they select.

  • We will return to the Blacksburg Farmers Market in mid-April. The season will last for approximately 30 weeks through the summer and fall.

  • Yes! Farm Club members can choose whatever they like, whenever they like.

  • Our 2025 crop plan includes over 40 varieties of annual vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

Late spring and early summer will see items such as strawberries, sugar snap peas, kale, spinach, cabbage, beets, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, and radish.

High summer will bring seasonal favorites like tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, garlic, sweet corn, zucchini, tons of fresh herbs and more!

Late summer and early fall herald the return of cool weather-loving crops like hearty greens, root vegetables, pumpkins and winter squash.

  • No problem! Farm Club offers total flexibility so you can shop whenever it suits your schedule. Just me mindful of your account balance so that you have enough time to spend it down before the season ends.

  • The farm is Certified Naturally Grown!

Everything we raise, from the fruits and veggies to our animals, is produced with a deep commitment to responsible ecological practices.

We never use synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, or pesticides. We prioritize soil health through regenerative agricultural principals like no-till, responsible compost sourcing, and facilitating a diverse ecosystem of plant and animals that work in harmony with nature. In short, all our growing practices are “organic” in the heart-level meaning of the word. However we will not be pursuing USDA Organic certification, as it is cost-prohibitive and administratively taxing beyond what our small farm can afford.

You are always welcome to ask questions about our growing practices and we welcome you to come see for yourself how your food is being grown!

  • Absolutely! Please reach out if you would like to schedule a visit for a different day or time, or if you would like to bring guests beyond your immediate family. For the health and safety of our livestock and garden, dogs are not permitted.

Remember, the farm is our home! While we deeply desire to share it with our community, it is important for our family to also set appropriate boundaries. Please do not show up unannounced during non-pickup hours.

  • No worries, we are here to answer them! Please feel free to email Erin and we will get you sorted.
